тогда я свою систему ломать не буду... проделайте следующее:

1. откорректируйте скрипты автостарта сети так, чтобы у Вас подымался РРРоЕ с предподнятием сети
2. проверьте получение внутрисетевого IP (!!!) на интерфейсе eth0
3. проверьте, чтобы шлюз по умолчанию был ррр0
4. проверьте доступность DNS-сервера (ping 172.17.0.2) и правильность его ответов (nslookup 172.17.0.2 8.8.8.8, например)

думаю, после этого жалобы на "медленный" DNS отпадут

Сеть настроил через wicid а инет через gtkpppoe и теперь на успеховском dns все работает норм! network manadger упорно отказывался получать айпи адрес((
