Православная святыня будет находиться в Спасо-Преображенском кафедральном соборе.

С 24 по 26 мая в центральном православном храме Донецка - Спасо-Преображенском кафедральном соборе, расположенном на улице Артема, будут находиться мощи святителя и чудотворца Спиридона Тримифунтского. После этого они будут возвращены в Грецию. До визита в Донецк мощи побывали в Киеве и других крупнейших городах Украины.
По словам представителей Церкви, святитель Спиридон Тримифунтский известен в православном мире не меньше, чем, например, святитель Николай. Правой рукой, которая привезена сейчас в Украину, святитель совершил одно из своих наибольших чудес. На Первом Вселенском Соборе (325 год) он сжал в руке кирпич. Мгновенно вышел из него огонь, потекла вода, а глина осталась в руках чудотворца. «Это три стихии, а плинфа (кирпич) одна, - сказал святитель Спиридон. - Так и в Пресвятой Троице: Три Лица, а Божество Едино». После молитв святителя пробуждались мертвые, укрощались стихии, сокрушались идолы.
